Heron Preston is officially independent. The designer has announced his departure from New Guards Group, the company that helped launch and manage his namesake label since 2017. New Guards Group has been shedding many brands from their portfolio recently including Ambush, Palm Angels, and Off-White.
In a statement, Preston revealed he’s regained full ownership of his brand and plans to take it in a new direction, starting with a relaunch next year. While NGG handled production, sales, and distribution over the past seven years, Preston says he’s ready to reframe the brand on his own terms.

“I went through hell to protect what I built. I fought for my name, my work and my vision. Now I’m back with more purpose than ever,” he said. Preston is the latest in a growing wave of designers parting ways with larger fashion groups in favor of full creative and operational control.
His next collection is expected to debut in early 2026.
