Mega, founder of Black Scale, isn’t holding back when it comes to the new Alec Monopoly x Mercedes-Benz collab. In an Instagram story post, Mega calls the partnership “a disgrace to your amazing luxury brand” and blasts it as “the epitome of desperate marketing.”
The collab features a custom Mercedes G-Wagon painted in bright colors, Monopoly graphics, and Alec’s signature spray paint aesthetic, something that’s long drawn criticism in the art world. Alec Monopoly made a name for himself by repurposing the classic Monopoly Man and cartoon-style money imagery, sparking years of debate over originality and artistic integrity.

For Mega, he thinks this collab is a mismatch between Mercedes’ heritage and what he sees as a cheap gimmick. “You are not only being represented by an artist who built a career off copying,” he wrote, “but using your classic G Wagon to share poor execution on collaboration.”

By calling out Mercedes, Mega opens up a broader conversation about brand identity, authenticity, and who gets chosen to represent luxury labels in 2025.
