A man has been arrested in connection to a series of shoe thefts across Los Angeles County, authorities confirmed Thursday. The LAPD’s Organized Retail Crimes Task Force took into custody 23‑year‑old Henry Rivera of Compton on July 2 after investigators tied him to nine theft incidents. Officials estimate the stolen merchandise was worth approximately $25,800.
When Rivera was arrested at the 100 block of East Alondra Boulevard, officers recovered two firearms in addition to the stolen goods. He now faces charges of grand theft under California Penal Code 487(a), and bail has been set at $300,000.

Detectives obtained a warrant that connected Rivera to multiple shoe retailer burglaries, some involving force or intimidation. These coordinated thefts are part of a growing trend of organized retail crime targeting high-end sneakers and apparel in the region.
No further suspects have been named, but the LAPD Retail Crimes Task Force says investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the LAPD or submit tips anonymously via L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers.
