Vans has announced a new multi-year partnership with SZA, naming the Grammy-winning artist as the brand’s Artistic Director. The collaboration will see SZA working closely with Vans on upcoming campaigns and exclusive product collections that merge her creative vision with the brand’s identity.

SZA, known for her genre-bending sound and bold approach to style, has long challenged cultural norms while inspiring individuality and self-expression. Vans says her role will highlight the brand’s core values of community and creativity.
“In Vans, I feel free,” SZA said. “I’ve been wearing Knu Skools and other styles for years, and they’ve always had an ethos I connect with. My mission is to show that joy, community, creativity, and fashion are all still connected. Vans champions that spirit, and I’m honored to invite more people to stand Off the Wall with us.”

The partnership kicks off with a new campaign centered on SZA’s favorite Vans silhouette, the Knu Skool in Black/White. Originally released in 1997 as a modern take on the Old Skool, the shoe features an oversized tongue, 3D Sidestripe, and chunky laces. The campaign was directed and photographed by Sophie Jones and styled by Alejandra Hernandez.

Through this collaboration, Vans and SZA aim to celebrate individuality, vulnerability, and the creative process, setting the tone for future projects to come.
