Vogue and Guess are under fire after featuring an AI-generated model in a recent print ad. The two-page spread appears in the latest issue of Vogue and shows a digital model wearing two different Guess outfits: a pale blue romper with cream floral mesh and a black-and-white chevron maxi dress with a matching handbag. A small note in the corner of the ad reads, “Produced by Seraphinne Vallora on AI.”

The ad has sparked immediate backlash, especially online. Critics are calling out both Vogue and Guess for replacing real models with artificial ones. Some users on social media have gone as far as canceling their subscriptions to Vogue and calling for boycotts.
Had to end the Vogue magazine subscription I’ve had for years because the latest magazine used AI models ??? In Vogue? AI models in Vogue? pic.twitter.com/vVZMiPEHkX

“Boycott Vogue NOW! They’re pushing out models for AI, devaluing the hard work and art of real people,” one user posted on X. Another added, “So many models wanting to appear in Vogue, only for them to end up using AI models.”
YouTuber Isabel Brown also weighed in, criticizing the ad for promoting unrealistic body standards. “No actual human being has body proportions like this… there already was major backlash to magazines making women look unattainable,” she said in a reaction video.
As of now, Guess has not shared the ad on its social media pages, but that hasn’t stopped people from flooding other posts with comments. Both Vogue and Guess have yet to publicly respond.
