Warren Lotas Drops Bootleg Dragon Ball Z Collaboration

Warren Lotas has officially released his latest bootleg project, this time turning his attention to Dragon Ball Z. This “collab” is another bold example of Lotas’ long-standing approach to reinterpreting popular IP in ways that push boundaries rather than play it safe.

The collection features tees, hoodies, shorts, and hats, all decorated with reimagined DBZ characters in Lotas’ signature, hand-drawn style. Familiar faces like Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza are redone with darker tones that feel more punk than anime.

Earlier this week Lotas’ spoke on bootlegs, “a good bootleg isn’t copying, a good bootleg takes the IP and does something they wouldn’t do.” Instead of recreating Dragon Ball Z merchandise that already exists, Lotas builds an alternative version that fans wouldn’t normally see from the official franchise.

While his take on bootlegs has sparked debate in the past, it’s clear that Lotas has carved out a unique lane for himself by leaning into reinterpretation rather than imitation.

The Warren Lotas x Dragon Ball Z bootleg collab is available now, online via Warren Lotas website.
